The Egyptian Community Arthroplasty Register (ECAR)

The ECAR is a relatively large arthroplasty registry that is primarily focused on knee, hip, and shoulder arthroplasty surgeries in Egypt. It was established in 2007 with the aim of supporting arthroplasty research in low-income settings. Now, the ECAR has more than 6000 recorded cases, and we are aiming to include more hospitals and individual surgeons.

Believing that open data sharing can make a huge difference in producing better research, we decided to make our database freely available to any researcher. If you are interested, please refer to the Contact page and make sure to include the following in your message:

  1. 1. Your name, affiliation, and position.
  2. 2. The research question of your project.
  3. 3. The variables you require for your project

Once you submit your request, we will get back to you in a few weeks.
